Night & Day Logistics transports radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear pharmacies and imaging facilities. Couriers assigned to this work hold DOT Class 7 training under 49 CFR 172.704 covering radioactive material handling, package categories and transport index, labeling and placarding, securement, surveying and emergency response.
Specifications
— The radiopharmacy holds the radioactive materials license and prepares, surveys, packages, labels and releases the dose. We transport a package already released. Maryland is an Agreement State — we operate under state, not NRC, oversight.
The Clock
A dose with a short half-life has a delivery window measured against decay, not convenience. A late delivery is a wasted dose and a rescheduled patient. We dispatch against the calibration time.

- Excepted, Yellow-II and Yellow-III packages
- Vehicle segregation, dose-rate awareness and transport-index limits observed on every load
- Radiation safety program maintained per Maryland Department of the Environment Radiological Health Program requirements
- Personnel monitoring where package types and exposure profiles warrant
- Empty container return standard, with shielded containers and pigs recovered on the following run
- 24/7 dispatch against calibration windows.
Damaged or Leaking Packages
Are isolated and not handled. The area is secured, the shipper and appropriate authorities notified immediately, and the vehicle removed from service pending survey and clearance.

A Pickup Cannot Be Completed
Dispatch contacts your site while the courier is still there. You are notified within 15 minutes. Unresolved STAT and same-day pickups are held, reassigned or scheduled for return within 60 minutes.
A Temperature Excursion Is Detected
Immediate containment, then notification to origin and destination within 30 minutes. You decide the disposition. A written report with logger data follows within 24 hours.
No Authorized Recipient Is Available
Medical and high-value shipments are never left unattended. Dispatch contacts your point of contact for direction, with custody and required conditions maintained.
